EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a technique which
uses bi-lateral (two-side) stimulation to create a state of dual
awareness that frees the unconscious viewpoint-- allowing it to
become known while, at the same time, providing a calming mental
distance from the unfolding understanding. EMDR speeds the processing
of traumatic and distressing events toward permanent resolution.
It can also be used to level intense emotions, target physical symptoms,
and work with dreams.
